Weight Loss Tips - How To Lose Stomach Fat Quickly & Easily

Not only is stomach fat a nuisance to get rid of, it can actually be dangerous. Stomach fat can lead to: Diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, abnormal lipids, and insulin resistance. So while trying to lease weight you may just be trying to look better on the beach, you could also be saving your life.

First of all, you have to improve your diet. This means a diet high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, and lean meats. Try to have 4 to 6 small meals a day while avoiding foods that are high in fat and carbohydrates. Doing this helps boost the metabolism and prevents overeating.

We've all heard the term 'beer belly' and the truth is that beer and alcohol in general will cause you to have an increase in stomach fat. If you drink regularly, make sure you cut down or you will find yourself fighting a losing battle. Also, try to cut down on sodas and canned juices as they contain a high amount of sugar. As always, drink a lot of water.

Improving your diet won't be enough; you'll need to begin a daily exercise regimen. While sit-ups and crunches are great exercises for getting rid of stomach fat, they aren't as effective as you may think as spot reduction is impossible in any part of the body. What you'll need to do if focus on total body fitness, and engage in a full body work out for at least 30 minutes a day. This includes swimming, jogging, and brisk walking for example. If you're not working up a sweat you're probably not getting the work out you need to lose stomach fat.

We all know that unhealthy eating habits are largely responsible for stomach fat, but did you know it could also be symptom of not getting enough sleep? This lowers both the body's insulin production which harms the body's ability to burn calories and leptin, a protein that tells the body when it's full. If you find yourself up late regularly, remember to take a break a get some sleep, for your health's sake.

Believe it or not, stress is another big reason for excess stomach fat. The reason for this is that stressful situations cause an increase of hormones in our bodies, such as cortisol and insulin. High cortisol levels have been related to an increase in fat production and appetite with the stomach reaping most of the results. The advice for this, besides finding a more stress-free job, is to exercise when you're feeling stressed, when possible, even if this means going for a short walk.

It's not all bad news for you though, believe it or not, stomach fat is usually the first thing to go when you're losing weight. Just focus on fewer calories and more exercise. Most importantly is when you lose the weight, keep it off! Many will go back to their old eating habits as soon they get results and lose all their hard work.

Eating Chocolate Ice Cream Every Full Moon Promotes Weight Loss

Are these the kinds of stories that we as health professionals are trying to write to enlighten the public or gain fame and notoriety? I read this story several days ago about some doctor who claims if you limit your flavors and pick a flavor of the day you will lose weight and has the case studies to prove it. Cmon!! First we have the Atkins diet, then the cabbage diet, and now this. I mean if you really want to prey on the many people who are so desperate to lose weight then do a case study on the above title. Im sure you will sell some copies for that book as well.

Now, if someone didnt read the story very carefully they're going to say, Hmmm, Ill start with a bowl of cherries, thats healthy. Then move on to cherry ice cream, then some cherry pie, and lets wash it down with some cherry coke. Laugh, but trust me those people are out there. They are the same people that think a French fry is a vegetable.

I shouldnt be too hard on this guy because most of the time the health professionals that have these wacky new fads at least go for something that is usually considered a sin. The Atkins diet lets you eat bacon and hamburgers, just set that bun down okay. This diet still suggests that you eat fruits and vegetables, except eat one particular fruit for the whole day. Yummy, I think Ill eat apples today. Ill have Fuji apples for breakfast, red ones at lunch, and those green ones for dinner. Is that really going to attract a whole bunch of people to buy this book?

Heres my point. It is almost getting to the point where eventually there will be a book called, The Sit Down With Remote in Hand Weight Loss Diet. This is what people want and as a personal trainer, Im getting sick of reading these articles. What was that recent book called, The French Diet???

Look do you really want to lose weight?? Then, Im going to tell you the bad news; you are going to have to work at it. Yes you are going to have to watch what you eat, and exercise. If you notice all these articles on these new diet trends, even this last one on the flavors, they all have a one or two line blurb saying, oh by the way you might want to exercise as well. Im tired of seeing my clients try the latest new diet that has them lose weight only to gain it back and then some.

America wake up and smell the coffee. There is not going to be some magic pill that will make you lose weight. If there were, someone would be making money off it. Right now the only people who are making money are all the authors of these so-called diets that are lining their pockets with your hard earned cash, while you follow diets that dont work. Or if they do, it only works for a small percentage.

Suck it up people. Take charge and control of your destiny. Accept the fact that you will have to exercise for the rest of your life. You will have to watch what you eat, even though you can splurge once in awhile. If you have to lose weight, yes it might take some time, but it will come off (it didnt come on in a day did it?). If you accept these facts and implement them right now, I guarantee you will have a very fulfilling life that will be so much better than wondering how many peaches you have to eat today.

Stretchercise for Health and Weight Loss

I never used to stretch. Then I lost over 186 pounds. Now I stretch.

If you do not exercise, you probably are not going to, so do what you can easily do for your health. If you do exercise, and you are going to continue, you can easily add stretching for your health. Take a lesson from cats.

Cats don't exercise. They stretch a lot; cats stretch immediately in several directions when waking from sleep or a nap, and will most often stretch almost any time they go from lying or sitting to standing. They even stop to stretch just because as they're walking somewhere.

Stretch your way to better health. Stretching has previously been considered a program for seniors or those recuperating; however, if you are overweight stretching may be a life saver for you. Stretching promotes elasticity in our muscles and joints and keeps us limber. How limber you are determines how you react to a slip and fall; it makes the difference between being injured and being able to catch yourself to prevent or minimize injury.

Stretching is also an excellent aid to diet and weight loss for the overweight or obese, and particularly for the morbidly obese; it is even appropriate for childhood adolescent obesity. The more overweight we are, the harder it is for us to exercise even if we want to: stretching lets us keep our muscles working and is the perfect way to enter the exercise arena as you lose weight.

Overweight and out of shape, or fit trim and in shape, any stretching program should start with care and caution. Consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program. Stretchercise as a program is done in multiple small doses many times during the day. If you do not exercise and get little physical motion, you should stretch for 2-5 minutes every hour.

One of the great things I discovered about stretching is that you can do it at length, with or without music, as an exercise program. Or you can do it for 30 seconds to a minute once an hour. In fact, much of it you can do while you're working, as a stress reducing little multi-task. You can do it watching TV, you can do it when you cook: you can actually make any movement you make a stretch.

And it feels good. And it increases circulation. And it reduces stress, muscle tension and fatigue. And it gives the muscles in your back that have been supporting you a much needed periodic respite. And it gives you energy.

As we age, flexibility decreases: it's use it or lose it. Stretching is an important factor in keeping muscles and joints flexible. The more flexible we are as we age, the fewer number of things become too hard for us to do, and the fewer aches and pains we have. Irrespective of health, it certainly extends our ability to maintain a satisfying quality of life. Stretchercising also helps if you have any weight control issues.

When stretching, you can use the corner of a wall as a stabilizing factor, which allows you to lean and stretch without fear of losing your balance. Whether you are doing your stretching on the floor, bed, in a chair, or standing, stretching to your favorite music tape will make time fly if you're stretching to exercise. (Minimum time to call it stretchercise should be 3 minutes to start, and as you become accustomed to it gradually continue to increase the amount of time.)

Stretching at your computer, be it your arms or just easily leaning side to side is good for you. You can tighten and loosen muscles of the arms, legs, and derrire any place, most any time. You can roll your neck; this is a great tension buster and helps prevent headaches.

Be sure when you stretch that you only go as far as is comfortable. Stretching should never hurt. You will probably find that, over time, you will begin to be able to do each stretch a little further comfortably. You may want to do a little research at your local bookstore, library, or on the Internet about yoga; it will provide many ideas and much helpful information about healthy stretching.

One last great thing I discovered about stretching: there are so many ways, places, and times to do it and so many muscles that can, and should, be stretched, anybody can become a master stretcher by trial and stretchercise.

Drinking Enough Clean Water Produces Natural Weight Loss

Weight loss occurs in our body when the liver convert stored fat into usable energy. Drinking enough clean water allows the liver to naturally accomplish this ... causing our body to lose weight.

This biochemical fact applies to all of us.

How do we acquire excess fat in our body?

Nutrients are absorbed through our intestines. Carbohydrates and sugars are absorbed and processed more quickly than any other nutrients. Water is a necessary ingredient for the absorption process.

So it is a cycle that is completely dependent on water to function in its full capacity.

Drinking enough clean water causes all of the nutrients to be absorbed through the intestines..not just the carbohydrates and sugars....which keeps our body in balance nutirionally. This cuts down on the body sending out signals that it is lacking in nutrients.. signals that come to us as "cravings".. causing us to eat more...causing more fats to be stored in the body.

5 Natural Weight Loss Tips

1. Leave Food On Your Plate

It sounds simple - because it is. Problem is, we've been taught since an early age that we have to finish everything on our plate "because people are starving in this world". That's true. But getting fatter as a result of finishing your plate won't help them. Far better to donate to a foreign aid charity instead.

2. Get More Exercise

I know everyone labors this point. If you need more convincing, buy a pedometer or keep a journal of the exercise you do for a week. You'll probably be stunned at how little exercise you do. 3. Cut Down On Sugar

4. Cut Out Soda Drinks

5. Don't Buy Diet Foods

At least not unless you've read the label and checked that the fat hasn't been swapped for sugar. Read up on all the different names that sugar can be called - fructose, glucose, sucrose, corn syrup, etc. Just because a product says it's low fat doesn't mean that it's OK to eat it!
